Student Food Pantry drive

Bring food to the Chapter Meeting

At the upcoming chapter meeting, we are holding a food drive. If you have a moment, please join us in
bringing any of the following items, which the Student Food Pantry reports are running low, to the
chapter meeting:

Grains: Bread, Cereal, Rice, and Pasta

  • rice and rice mixes
  • canned pastas
  • noodle mixes
  • dry noodles and pastas
  • macaroni and cheese mix
  • cold cereals
  • bran cereal
  • shredded wheat
  • hot cereal mixes
  • oatmeal
  • bread and muffin mixes
  • pancake mix
  • whole-grain crackers
  • granola bars
  • graham crackers
  • flour
  • bread

These will be delivered to the Student Food Pantry.

Jancarla Hernandez, the AmeriCorps Vista representative with the FIU Center for Leadership and Service, offers this explanation:

The Student Food Pantry is an initiative to address food insecurity on campus. The Student Food Pantries are available on both campuses, at MMC the pantry is located in DM 166 and at BBC is located in WUC 307. The pantry is open to all FIU students with a valid panther ID. We depend on donations from student groups, faculty, staff, and alumni to keep our pantry stocked.
