Updates from June FIU-BOT Meeting

Important happenings from today’s FIU-BoT meeting: 1) The BoT voted to ratify the CBA amendments faculty ratified in spring. This means we officially have an updated contract! 2) The BoT also approved the Guidelines for Reopening plan put forth by the administration. 2020 CBA Amendments Ratification Vote

Under the remote-work order, UFF-FIU will proceed with an online ratification vote to be held the following week from Wednesday, April 29th to Friday, May 1st. Summary of 2020 Tentative BOT-UFF Agreement

Based upon our bargaining sessions during Spring 2020, the FIU Administration and the United Faculty of Florida-FIU have reached a tentative agreement on the following re-openers of the 2018-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement. The spring Chapter Meeting was held on Tuesday, March 24th from 10am-12pm. Due to current campus restrictions, the UFF-FIU Executive Committee held a remote meeting via Zoom. Ratification results

On Wednesday, September 4th and Thursday, September 5th, 2019 FIU faculty successfully voted to ratify the salary agreement reached between the UFF-FIU and FIU administration bargaining teams. The official result of the ratification vote was 138 “Yes” votes to 5 “No” votes. The University Board of Trustees (BOT) was set to vote on the agreement during their September 5th meeting.
