Legislative Alert: SB 78/HB 947 – Union Busting Bills

What is SB 78: Dues and Uniform Assessments? Currently, a faculty member who wants to join UFF submits a dues authorization form to UFF which is then sent to FIU HR for automatic processing. MOU Ratification Notice (UPDATE with results)

  9/3/20 UPDATE: Faculty have voted to ratify the MOU with an official tally of 286 YES to 1 NO UFF-FIU is holding an online ratification vote on the MOU from Tuesday, September 1st to Thursday, September 3rd. When voting opens, detailed instructions and an access link will be sent to faculty’s FIU email via Election Buddy, a secure third-party election service. MOU Ratification Meetings

As shared on July 6th, we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the administration concerning the impact of COVID-19 on Fall faculty work. Both parties will move forward with scheduling ratification votes. Statement in Support of Lawsuit to Protect K-12 Teachers, Students, and Communities
