Dear Colleagues,
Over the past few weeks we have seen emboldened politicians in Florida take aim squarely at the future of higher education in Florida. After successfully securing an injunction against HB-7 and delaying the approval of post-tenure review proposal by the Board of Governors, the past few weeks have borne new attacks on basic constitutional rights, including both academic freedom and the right to collective bargaining.
We are asking members to join us for a solidarity hour on Chilli’s patio from 3:30-6:00pm on Thursday, February 9th. Now more than ever it is important for us to share information and strategize about how best to protect our institution, colleagues, and students.
We particularly encourage new members and faculty interested in becoming members to join us and make your voice heard!
