Forwarding<\/h3>\n
From the access page, you can request that your UFF-FIU e-mail be forwarded to antoher account.
\nPlease do not forward your account to a mailbox at FIU.<\/b> If the webmaster discovers such
\na forward, it will be removed.<\/p>\n
If you forward your account to another email address, be sure to open the webmail settings and unselect the option for keeping a copy of the message on the server. If you neglect to do this, you mailbox on UFF-FIU will become full and you will stop receiving messages.<\/p>\n
Server<\/h3>\n
If you would like to read your UFF-FIU e-mail from a different e-mail client, then the name of the server is mail.uff-fiu.org<\/b>. This address will accept POP3. If you would like to use IMAP4, then the server is mail.server277.com<\/strong>. The user name to use for the
\ne-mail client will be first.last@uff-fiu.org<\/b>. This server also needs TLS on port 993 with authentication.

<\/p>\nBe sure that your outgoing server (SMTP server) is not set to an FIU server. You can also use
\nmail.uff-fiu.org or mail.server277.com<\/b> as your outgoing server. Port 587<\/strong> and STARTTLS<\/strong> are the settings for the outgoing server. Use the same server that you used for the incoming server. In order to be sure that you are authorized to send mail through the server, always check your mail just before you send
\na message.<\/p>\nDeleting Messages<\/h3>\n
Please keep your mailboxes free of clutter. We have to pay for all the space that we use, so please
\ndelete messages that you no longer need.<\/p>\n
To delete a lot of messages at once, increase the number of messages displayed on each page.<\/p>\n
\n- Log into webmail.<\/li>\n
- Select the Options<\/var> tab at the top of the page.<\/li>\n
- Select the General Options<\/var> link.<\/li>\n
- Set the Number of items per page:<\/var> to a value from 10 to 1000.<\/li>\n
- Click the Update<\/var> button at the bottom of the page.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
Next, use advanced search to select messages.<\/p>\n
\n- Click the Advanced Search<\/var> link in the upper left area of the page.<\/li>\n
- Enter search criteria. To select old messages, set the to and from date fields.<\/li>\n
- Click the Search<\/var> button.<\/li>\n
- Click Select All<\/var> on the result page and then delete them. Since you increased the number
\nmessages displayed per page, you will be able to delete multiple messages at once.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nThis will delete all the messages from the folder. When you are done, be sure to
\ndelete all the messages in the Trash<\/em> folder, since all the messages you deleted are still
\nin that folder.<\/p>\n
