As you probably know, Interim President Jeanette M. Nuñez has emerged as the sole candidate for FIU president, and as such she’s scheduled to attend a series of community forums this Wednesday, May 21st, 2025.

We understand that many of our faculty members will choose not to attend these forums because you do not wish to legitimize this hiring with your presence. That is certainly your right.
We also understand that some faculty members might see this as an opportunity to pose questions and share concerns with this final presidential candidate. That is certainly also within your rights.
