As we explained in previous emails, on July 29th, the administration
notified UFF-FIU that it did not receive sufficient appropriations
from the state legislature and would need to invoke the sufficient
funds clause of the Salary Article (Art. 11. I.F) to reopen
negotiations on salary increases. Those discussions are ongoing. This
listening session is meant to provide faculty the chance to ask any
questions they might have and to weigh in on bargaining priorities
before the next bargaining session, which reminds us…
